What is a Timing Belt?

A timing belt is a belt that adjusts that actions of the camshaft in your vehicle in order to maintain its performance. Depending on how old your vehicle is, your timing belt could be a chain or it could be an actual belt made of rubber. Regardless of your vehicle's age, the timing belt serves the same purpose.

The goal of the timing belt is to keep your vehicle’s engine running smoothly. Your timing belt may need to be replaced if you notice your engine is slipping or if your engine misfires. Sometimes, there may not be any direct signs that your timing belt is failing.

Most cars can usually drive 100,000 miles before they need to replace their timing belt. Older cars usually need their timing belts replaced after 50,000 miles in service. Nevertheless, if you suspect your vehicle needs a timing bet, please bring your vehicle to our dealership.
